Samantha // Sparrow

When I was a senior in high school, a friend of mine and I signed up to be counselors at The Outdoor School, a three-day science camp for local 6th graders. Before the trip, we went to the store and bought everything we thought we'd need to be prepared; he even got a Star Wars poster to put up in his cabin. Soon the day came where we arrived, were assigned our cabins of kids, and, of course, he got a cabin full of awesome little boys who were relatively well-behaved. And then put up that Star Wars poster, and basically became their hero, and had the best time.
I, on the other hand, was put in charge of the biggest cabin there, which was filled with many, many little girls, who were at the complete opposite of the spectrum. They did not listen, they were SO chatty [to be expected, I suppose], and included in our bunch was the queen bee of the mean popular girls. Oh, how I do not miss sixth grade. But as you can assume, it was a disaster waiting to happen. Luckily, with it being the largest cabin in the camp, I wasn't thrown into the shark-infested waters alone. Meet Samantha [science camp counselor name: Sparrow], who spent three straight days with me not sleeping and instead wrangling misbehaving youngsters who had no interest in learning about science. The two of us ended up getting out alive, and met up for the first time since to take a few photos! Her friend made those denim cutoff shorts for her - I love them! People pay a hundred dollars to get a pair of shorts like that!

I'm hoping to milk this summertime vibe as much as I can - I can't believe it's about to be September!
